About the Role
We now have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join the Hastings Deering Learning team as an Apprentice Trainer, located at our learning facility in Brisbane.
We are looking for someone with impeccable work ethic who likes to learn, seize opportunities and take responsibility for achieving excellence whilst working as part of a great team.
This is a great opportunity for a Tradesperson looking to develop and transition across from the tools to teach the next generation of Hastings Deering Diesel Fitters. This is a permanent full time opportunity.
As a Apprentice Trainer you will:
- Develop and maintain training materials meeting Hastings Deering Learning & Development standards in regard to content scope, content detail, formatting, presentation, look and feel
- Maintain compliance of accredited training courses delivered, against State and Federal Government standards and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) compliance policies and procedures
- Facilitate a safe, positive and open learning experience for our Apprentices
- Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure smooth, professional facilitation of the HD L&D learning experience for the students and all parties associated with the process
- Is able to work outside their comfort zone, delivering different courses as needed.
- As required, this role also provides support to the broader Capability team in the delivery of non-accredited programs and courses.

About You
A successful teammate will have experience in:
- Certificate III in Engineering Diesel Fitting (MEM30205)
- 3+ post trade experience within the surface or mining industries working in a workshop or field service environment. (Caterpillar machine maintenance, repair, and or Cat dealership experience highly desirable)
- A genuine interest in sharing knowledge and experience to support the Apprentice learning Journey to develop the future trades people for Hastings Deering and its customers.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable - we will provide training for the right candidate)
- Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities
- Ability to work autonomously to achieve training outcomes
- Ensure safety goals are achieved through personal commitment, no harm to self or others and participation in safety initiatives
