The Role
The APS 3Security Advisor works within the Security Vetting team, collaborating daily with Military members to support the Army’s newest soldiers and staff at the 1st Recruit Training Battalion (1 RTB). This role is essential in facilitating a smooth transition from civilian to military life or between postings. The Security Vetting team is responsible for maintaining, administering and managing all aspects of security vetting administration for recruits and staff.The successful applicant will undertake a number of key duties including, but not limited to:

• Manage, prepare and coordinate accurate and timely security vetting administration in support of recruit training within the Battalion.
• Deliver security information sessions and lessons to large groups.
• Administer and maintain accurate personnel security vetting administration records.
• Provide security officer and security vetting support to the 1 RTB Security Vetting Manager, recruits and Battalion staff.
• Provide an ability to step in as a redundancy for the 1 RTB Security Vetting Manager as required. Engage with a wide variety of stakeholders from differing backgrounds including civilians, contractors and Military members.

Comprising a diverse team of military personnel, APS members, and contractors, the battalion collaborates effectively to support and enhance the capabilities of the ADFAs a Security Advisor within the Security Vetting team at Headquarters 1 RTB.You will provide vital security vetting administrative support to the recruits and staff, contributing to the safety and security of Defence, the Australian Government, and the community.
