Based at Larrakeyah Health Centre, Larrakeyah Defence Precinct Darwin NT, the APS 4Health Clerk will supervise a mixed team of APS and contracted Health Clerks allocating work, resources and tasks and setting priorities to meet set outcomes. This team manages initial patient streaming (triage), medical appointments, referrals, specialist bookings and military medical administration processes, as well as the flow of calls, emails and walk-in members (patients).
As the APS 4Health Clerk you will be the leader of the Health Clerk team, and a key member in the Primary Health Care Team model, in order to allocate tasks, monitor workloads and set priorities to meet required medical admin outcomes, and provide triage support to the health centre.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Ability to lead a team, provide coaching and on-the-job training for newer and less experienced team members and manage a high tempo customer-service area.
- Be able to understand and apply medical terminology and balance the needs of the patients (ADF members) and health centre staff.
- Be highly adaptable and able to manage change at short notice.
- Ability to foster customer service within your team.
- Have the ability to liaise with external stakeholders including other health service providers and facilities including the members, Doctors, Nurses and Medics.
- Be able to work collaboratively with the Practice Manager (ADF SNCO Regulator or Nursing Officer) to achieve priorities and tasking.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills; previous experience in an allied health or medical field; well-developed relationship building skills; demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; a strong work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality; and be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
