The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.A new role awaitsThe Agency Budget and Financial Control Branch sits within the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Division. The Agency Budget and Financial Control Branch delivers strategic financial advice and valued financial management services throughout the Agency. It is responsible for the financial management of the Agency and Scheme, and provides insightful financial reporting to support decision making.The NDIA currently have vacancies within Performance Reporting, Budgets, Financial Reporting and Scheme Reporting. You can find out a little about each of these teams belowPerformance Reporting
The Performance Reporting team is responsible for monthly management reporting to the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) and Board. Maintaining the Agencys Chart of Accounts, cost element hierarchy and cost centre hierarchy; and high level financial analyses.Budgets
The Internal Budget team is responsible for managing the Agencys internal budget. It manages the Agency’s internal budget in relevant Finance systems including SAP BT and SAP. The team is also responsible for the Workforce Planning Model.Financial Reporting
The Financial Reporting team is responsible for the preparation of the Agencys annual financial statements; financial reporting to the Department of Finance; treasury and investment functions for the Agency. We regularly liaise with the Agencys external financial statements auditor, the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO), including assisting other branches within the Agency to respond to ANAO requests and queries.Scheme Reporting
The Scheme Policy and Reporting team is responsible for embedding financial best practice and governance within the financial management of the Scheme; providing reports and forecasts on the Scheme finances to the Chief Financial Officer, Strategic Leadership Team (SLT), and Board. Continued expansion the Branch's Scheme financial and trend analysis; and monitoring and reporting on the impacts of policy and legislative changes on scheme sustainability and related frameworks.Where you can add value Everyday at the NDIA will bring you new challenges and achievements.   • Performing integrity of data and reconciliation of major supplier invoices and validating supplier invoice information against in-house records.
  • Processing supplier invoices on purchase orders, liaising and managing dispute charges, obtaining credit notes from suppliers and preparing supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Assisting with asset management, costing proposals and initiatives as required.
  • Drafting a range of written material including business cases, reports, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
  • Establishing, managing and providing financial management advice to internal and external stakeholders to improve the financial management and operations in the Agency.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance to assist local management to manage overall performance.
  • Undertaking financial administration across the division’s cost centres and projects, including budgets, journals, quarterly analysis, forecasting, accruals, monitoring and reporting.
  • Undertaking weekly, end of month and end of financial year SAP FI system rollover activities and provide assistance to users of SAP FI as required.

While this role is ideally performed from Geelong - VIC or Richmond, VIC, remote working arrangements may be considered.
