We are a well-established business in the timber and steel fabrication supply industry, and we supply some of the larger building projects in Victoria.
Due to our growth strategies, we have an opportunity for a full-time Financial Controller, reporting directly to our Managing Director.
This is a new position in the organisation and offers potential for growth and the opportunity to work within our leadership team
About the Role:
As the Financial Controller, you will be the cornerstone of our financial operations of our business, working within the manufacturing sector. You will provide essential support to ensure the smooth functioning of our finance department. Your role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, requiring leadership, drive, and strong attention to detail and exposure to the manufacturing or construction sectors will be essential.
Key Responsibilities:
The key to this role will be a “hands on” individual, who is a real team player and has experience in analysing manufacturing data and a sttrong understanding of the manufacturing and construction industry, with at least 10 years' experience.
- Leadership and management of the Accounting and finance department, ensuring industry best practice and continuous improvement across the business.
- Management and maintenance of company finance systems, price files BOMs and production SOW.
- Training, managing and overseeing our strategic planning days each year.
- Ensure accurate and timely accounting practices, end of month reporting and cash management, while providing information and decision-making insights to drive our growth strategies.
- Manage the stock control and procurement department and stockturns and ROI.
- Provide hands on support and training in all finance operatorial areas as required.
- Production and management of budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with various departments.
- Management accounting including production reports, manufacturing cost analysis, budget preparation, setting production standards, and stocktakes.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Manage tax reporting (BAS, PAYG)
- Consult with the Managing Director and external accounts and senior team and provide support and insight for financial and strategic decisions.
- Manage payroll and IR and staff remuneration over three locations.
- Risk management, corporate Governance and compliance
- Assist with WorkCover and OH&S requirements.
- Drive and manage industry best practice in the business
To be considered as a candidate for this exciting position.
Ideally you will be CA/CPA qualified, have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role. Strong manufacturing and technical skills, with proven leadership skills, working within a highly dynamic and competitive business.
