Training Force (TF) is undergoing a significant transformation to ensure we are able to meet the future training demand, as well as the learner’s expectations of the larger future Navy workforce, within a continuous shipbuilding context that is delivering newer and more complex capabilities over the next 50 years.The APS5 Contract Management Assistant will be integral to Training Force Contracts and Commercial (TFCC). TFCC is designed to strategically consolidate, centralise and manage the Commercial Contract Management functions within the Training Force Headquarters (TFHQ), to support the delivery of contracted training services geographically valued at over $100m per annum across Training Force (TF).As a key member of the TFCC team, you will be responsible for supporting Contract Management administration activities with a clear emphasis on governance and assurance. You will support, assist and inform Contract Management activities, and will interact with a wide range of stakeholders, who are central to the provision of capability and the delivery of Navy and broader Defence training or supporting services.The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA). This arrangement is subject to meeting eligibility criteria and is subject to annual review. Should your performance fall beyond requirements or the eligibility criteria not be met, your eligibility for the BDCP may be reviewed and ceased.It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence. Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease.About our Team
TFCC, sits within the Business Enterprise Management Directorate and is accountable for providing commercial and procurement support to Navy Training Force. Training Force is overseen by Commodore Training (COMTRAIN), who reports to Deputy Chief of Navy (DCN).As a strong commercial partner, we work with key stakeholders both internal and external to Training Force, to stay informed across the business so we can provide commercial support and advice that aids smart, connected, outcomes-focused business decisions to deliver the desired commercial outcomes for Navy. This important work enables these engagements to maximise value for money, and meet legislative and mandatory policy requirements.Our Ideal Candidate
