Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

We are looking for a highly reliable, professional and experienced APS 5 Office Manager to play a major role in the ongoing support within the NSW ACT Operations team of the Service Delivery Branch. You will have autonomy to make decisions, use your initiative and get things done.

As the Office Manager, you will have the ability to apply your own creativity and expertise within NDIA policy and procedure whilst interacting with internal and external stakeholders, leveraging relationships to resolve moderate to complex enquiries.

As a valued member of the team, you will be able to identify issues and risks across a range of administration activities, lead team members, set priorities and allocate work.

Not every day will be the same and being adaptable is the key to success. Main elements of this role include:

  • Liaising with relevant enabling teams
  • Building relationships across sites
  • Assisting with WHS tasks and contact officer management.
  • Overall management of sites within demographic remit including site visits and general site communications

This is a state-based role working autonomously plus within a team environment under guidance.

To join our team, you will have:

  • High level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven administration and leadership experience.
  • Be able to recognise peoples strengths, show empathy and have inclusive decision making skills
  • Ability to move fleet cars between offices. Drivers Licence is desirable but not essential
  • Travel between offices with the possibility of overnight travel may be required

While this role is ideally performed from Deakin, Bathurst, Dubbo, Griffith, Newcastle, Penrith, Surry Hills, Wagga Wagga or Wollongong, remote working arrangements may be considered. 

We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
