The Role
Heavy Air Lift Systems Program Office (HALSPO) has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a qualified, experienced, energetic and innovative Contract Management Officer to join our multidisciplinary, highly functioning and fully supported team.
You will join a dynamic Enterprise, in conjunction with Industry partners and Air Force, to directly support and deliver vital Defence capability in support of Australia’s national interests. HALSPO is located at Amberley; Queensland. The core role for this position is to assist with the management of the KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport, C-17A Globemaster Heavy Lift Transport, Boeing Business Jet and Falcon 7X Special Purpose capability contracts.
Other important and associated responsibilities include:
- Assistance to manage, monitor, assess and report contractor performance and other reporting and audit requirements;
- Assistance to existing and future capability requirements including; developing statements of work, tender evaluation and contract negotiation;
- Review and assessment of supporting commercial documentation;
- Invoicing and financial management; and
- Communication and relationship management and development across a wide variety of stakeholders with very complex needs and systems including Air Mobility Group, Air Warfare Centre, and major Defence Industry partners.
The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace. Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following.
BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA). This arrangement is subject to meeting eligibility criteria and is subject to annual review. Should your performance fall beyond requirements or the eligibility criteria not be met, your eligibility for the BDCP may be reviewed and ceased. It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence. Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease.
About our Team
HALSPO is an important business unit within the Airlift and Tanker Systems branch of the Aerospace Systems Division. HALSPO is the in-service support agency responsible for sustaining and enhancing the RAAF’s KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport, C-17A Globemaster Heavy Lift Transport, Boeing Business Jet and Falcon 7X Special Purpose Aircraft capabilities for Air Force. These fleets form the backbone of the Strategic Air Mobility capability within Defence and are utilised for roles ranging from humanitarian support to high-end operations.
In this role, you will enjoy an outwardly engaged environment with multiple complex stakeholder groups from within Defence and wider Industry, whilst working as part of the KC-30A and C-17 Logistics Management Teams within HALSPO.
