The Role
- Supporting management of complex people cases, integrating HR expertise to get appropriate HR outcomes for employees and managers
- Building manager capability through the development and implementation of people projects, strategies and initiatives to coach and enable managers to make informed decisions
- Partnering and stakeholder engagement, being proactive in growing and maintaining strong connections
- Provision of advice and strategies for individuals and managers experiencing interpersonal conflict and/or unacceptable behavior to support resolution
- Reporting on key data analytics for decision making.
About our Team
The HR Officer is a team leader within the Business Enterprise Management Team, Training Force Headquarters. The centralised business management functions, have teams geographically located around Australia with regional areas or responsibility to support the delivery of training to our mariners.
Reporting to the Deputy Director Business and Resource Management, within the Business Enterprise Management Team, Training Force Headquarters, this role will work with other team members who are geographically located elsewhere.

To be successful in this role you will have a:
- A passion for, and experience in HR and providing HR Services to personnel and managers who are geographically dispersed.
- Be able to manage a challenging workload across a broad HR portfolio with quality and a high attention to details.
- Have outstanding customer service skills and be able to demonstrate they can build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of seamless HR services that continues to meet the changing needs of our customers.
- Have a solutions-focused approach and be able to demonstrate initiative, innovation and agility to ensure the Defence workforce is well positioned to deliver Government priorities; and
- Have the ability to deal with HR issues and change in a proactive, positive and dynamic way.
- Training Force Operational Workforce Plan – development and maintenance.
- Liaison and engagement with Navy APS Workforce Planning team.
- Manage human resourcing requirements and reporting across TF, including military, reserve, APS and contractor workforce.
- Contribute to the Training Force resource forecast planning.
- Manage Training Force APS professionalization framework.
- Manage all TF APS recruitment activities.
