The Supplier Development Officer is responsible for ensuring products and services delivered by the Regional Maintenance Centre (RMC) Enterprise meet customer expectations. This includes overseeing the development and review of business quality control procedures and ensuring products and services meet applicable regulatory requirements. The Supplier Development Officer will provide support and guidance to the RMC Director and Commercial Manager in the areas of business quality control, assurance and, management. The Supplier Development Officer is also responsible for developing supplier relationships and supporting supplier-owned initiatives. They will work with suppliers to identify and analyse needs, develop and implement solutions, and measure and look towards improving supplier performance. Additionally, the Supplier Development Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining good relationships with employees, customers, and suppliers ensuring RMC North meets or exceeds targets and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of compliance with legislative frameworks, Government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. RMC North is seeking a team player with highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills and someone who genuinely believes in collaborating both within and across organisational boundaries to achieve outcomes.
About our Team
In response to the Australian Government developing a nationwide naval shipbuilding enterprise the Maritime Sustainment Model is implemented to realise Plan Galileo; Maritime System Division’s national, long term approach to sustainment of the naval fleet. Regional Maintenance Centre (RMC) North is located in Darwin and will provide capability support to the Royal Australian Navy. The focus of this organisation will be on enhanced collaboration, co-ordination, workforce development and expansion to build the capability and capacity needed to meet increasing ship maintenance demands.
The Regional Maintenance Centre – North is dedicated to the continued professional development of its staff and you can expect to enhance your skills through additional formal training. Applying knowledge: We are looking for a Supplier Development Officer who understands and can apply Quality Assurance legislation, Defence policies and procedures, and contribute towards viable solutions and prevention strategies to address supplier and quality issues within a governance and assurance context.
Accountable: You will be accountable to ensure you have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. Research, Analysis and Quality Management. You will be adept in researching and analysing information, probing for clarity, producing solutions, making judgements and have the ability to think systematically.
Communication and relationship management. You will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to leverage interpersonal skills to build and sustain productive relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
