This Federal Government Department is responsible for Australia’s security operations and policies, including bilateral relations, relations with regional and international organisations, free trade negotiations as well as overseas aid programs.
This team supports the Department’s primary grant management system SmartyGrants. If you're looking to be part of an inclusive and collaborative team, expanding your networks and influence in aid management in a range of programs, then this is the role for you! The team is looking for someone who likes dealing with people, is capable of developing and maintaining a network across the department, is technically capable in computer systems and who ideally has grant management experience.
Your new role
In this position you will be supporting SmartyGrants users through the provision of in-house support to ensure the standardisation of grant data and processes, a high skill level of users is maintained and timely analysis of system faults.
The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the maintenance and client support of grant programs through SmartyGrants, including the analysis of system faults and answering questions on system functionality;
- Contribute to the development of team objectives for short term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives.
- Work with independence, subject to limited direction against established priorities, practices, and methodologies to deliver quality outcomes;
- Compile and manipulate project data to enhance business understanding of outcomes;
- Contribute and support the delivery of in-house user training.
What you'll need to succeed
Our ideal candidate will be collaborative and work well in a supportive team environment. You will have effective communication skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will be adaptable and innovative in your work approach, be technically capable in IT, applying your knowledge and skills to enhance the Department’s business requirements.
Ability to support users of SmartyGrants by liaising directly with staff and in the preparation of quality support material in order to achieve outcomes.
Under limited direction, you will use your analytical skills in order to gather, analyse and prepare reports for users and management using data interpreted from our systems.
SmartyGrants experience desired but not essential.
A NV1 clearance is required for this role.
