ABOUT THE BRANCHThe
Grants Policy Branch is responsible for developing and implementing whole-of-government policy advice on the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs) and has policy oversight of Commonwealth grants administration arrangements. The Branch coordinates the review and release requests for Grant Opportunity Guidelines and provides timely assistance and advice to Government, entities, and other stakeholders to assist them to meet their obligations under the policies and frameworks.

Grants Policy / Project OfficerThe
Grants Policy / Project Officer is responsible for managing oversight of grants administration and policy support to entities and grants hubs, and assisting the team broadly with day-to-day delivery of project tasks. In a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will have an ability to manage competing priorities whilst working independently or as a part of a broader team. The duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Review and coordination of grants hub deferral and exemptions requests, including liaising with relevant stakeholders and providing input to draft responses as required.
- Communications management, providing sound grants administration and Grants Policy advice to granting entities and relevant stakeholders.
- Coordination of meetings to support governance arrangements, granting entity engagements, and other relevant stakeholder and section engagements as required.
- Assisting in the review and input to New Policy Proposals, providing grants administration and Grants Policy commentary where applicable.
- Desktop research and information gathering, along with information consolidation to support governance, assurance, stakeholder engagement and change management as required.
- Drafting and developing relevant project materials, including user survey coordination, as appropriate.
Represent Finance and

- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS) unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise, in writing.
- Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated in the downloadable job pack. All Finance staff are required to have a minimum baseline security clearance prior to commencement.
- This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing. Roles may be offered as either ongoing or non-ongoing subject to operational requirements. Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 12 months. Specified term vacancies may be extended up to a maximum period of 18 months.
