About the role
My client has an exciting opportunity for a professional to join the Collection Engagement Business Unit, providing quality training and support to Museum staff in the use and development of its collection information systems. This position plays a critical role in the coordination and operation of the Museum's Collection Systems, particularly through providing system user support and developing, maintaining and delivering training programs for the Collection Management System (currently EMu) and Digital Asset Management System (currently Piction). You will equip Museum staffs with skills in both general use and specific business processes. You will also develop and maintain associated training documentation including manuals and data entry guidelines.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have experience in the administration and user support of core organisational systems and databases, preferably in collection management within a cultural institution context. You will be adaptable and responsive to user needs when providing training and support, being able to readily distil information and communicate effectively to a wide range of users with varying levels of system proficiency.
You will preferably have a background in or understanding of collection management and/or data asset management practices to help identify potential system improvements and workflows. You will also have excellent problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities.

Selection Criteria
  • High-level experience in the use, user support and general administration of databases and reporting technologies, preferably in collection management or digital asset management within the context of a cultural institution.
  • Initiative in the workplace and an ability to work effectively and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to provide staff training related to collection information systems, and to problem solve related staff queries.
  • Ability to manage competing and changing priorities within a team environment and the ability to complete a variety of tasks within agreed deadlines.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills appropriate for effectively communicating technical issues to non-technical staff, and the ability to develop and deliver training programs to staff.
  • Problem solving and high-level analytical skills as they relate to problems experienced by business systems users.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Workplace Diversity and Equity, Workplace Relations, and commitment to relevant legal and regulatory responsibilities, including Workplace Health and Safety.
