The opportunity
This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Geelong to work for a highly regarded government department. In this role, the Procurement Specialist will be instrumental in supporting the Procurement and Corporate Services Branch. Responsibilities include providing expert advice, ensuring adherence to procurement regulations, and contributing to the achievement of value-driven outcomes.
Key responsibilities include;
- Offer comprehensive procurement advice and support.
- Ensure strict compliance with procurement regulations and guidelines.
- Contribute to tracking and reporting on value for money outcomes.
- Prepare meticulous procurement documentation and correspondence.
- Engage in collaborative team and branch planning activities.
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate;
- Previous experience in procurement or related fields ideally within a federal government department.
- Familiarity with procurement regulations, including Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing high volume requests and ability to multitask.
- Strong ability to use Microsoft OS
