Our client is seeking to engage an APS5 Secretariat and Governance Services Officer.

About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated self-starter to join our small, dynamic team. The Team
You will be part of a small team within the Communications, Engagement and Governance Section (CEGs), Corporate Services Branch. CEGs is responsible for delivering internal and external communications, stakeholder engagement sand corporate governance services on behalf of the Agency.
The Corporate Governance and Engagement sub-team delivers broad corporate governance, secretariat and stakeholder services to the agency, its Executive and the Board and its committees. As a member of this team, you will have visibility of agency work and how decisions are made.
The duties of this position include:
- Provide support to the Secretariat Coordinator in delivering secretariat services to the Agency's Board and its committees.
- Coordinate agency liaison with the Food Regulation Secretariat with regard to the Food Ministers' Meeting, Food Regulation Standing Committee and the Implementation Subcommittee for Food Regulation.
- Support and coordinate parliamentary liaison functions on behalf of the agency, under limited direction.
- Provide support to other staff in the section, including the Director, and contribute to operational and strategic planning.
- Deliver professional secretariat services and support to high level committees and meetings, with minimal supervision.
- Apply well-developed organisational skills to set priorities, meet deadlines, work with care and ensure accuracy.
- Demonstrate ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders using tact, discretion and initiative.
- Employ well-developed oral and written communication skills to ensure effective and efficient engagement with stakeholders, colleagues and the Executive.
- Demonstrate ability to work individually and as part of a team.
It is highly desirable the successful candidate has experience in:
- Providing secretariat support services in government or the private sector
- Organising and delivering meetings and events
- Supporting stakeholder engagement, parliamentary and communication functions, including liaising with a range of stakeholder groups and representatives
- Developing products and materials for a range of audiences and purposes (e.g., terms of reference; meeting agendas and papers; minutes; call-to-action emails)
