The Opportunity
Experienced Work Health and Safety candidates are in high demand right now. We have a wide range contracts, permanent positions, non-ongoing roles, and section 26 transfers from our government, consulting, and private sector clients available.
The Role
As the WHS Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation complies with relevant WHS laws, regulations, and policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees. You will:
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the WHS management system, facilitating health and wellbeing initiatives
- Provide advice to stakeholders on legislative matters, managing issue resolution
- Assist with specialist WHS support for workers and managers
- Coordinate health initiatives like influenza vaccinations and wellbeing week
- Manage workstation assessments, including invoice payment and acquiring sit-stand desks
- Monitor and respond to incident and hazard reports, escalating as needed
- Support secretariat functions for quarterly Work Health Safety Committee Meetings
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrate competency in using Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
- Have knowledge of record management principles and safety risk management practices
- Exhibit the ability to apply judgment and decision-making in a fast-paced environment
- Adhere to the principles of the APS Code of Conduct
$75k - $100k + Super
