The Role
This Project Support Officer position is responsible for supporting a small team to deliver client-focussed, efficient, professional and value-add services.
Key Responsibilities:
Services to be provided include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in providing high level support on the following, under the direction of the Project Director or the Senior Project Manager:
- Develop and maintain a project schedule for project milestone register, dependency register, delivery roadmap and other communication products to support delivery of the project
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to track, monitor and report on project dependencies
- Supporting the implementation of the project management framework and disciplines necessary to support a PMO including
- Adhering to and maintaining project management and governance standards
- Implementation of effective project processes and templates to support the development of accurate project management artefacts and transparent reporting
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong customer-centric focus, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a positive and flexible approach in terms of working with different stakeholders and changing priorities while ensuring compliance with Commonwealth and departmental requirements.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, in some or all of the following – risk identification, assessment and tracking, issue management and resolution, scheduling, program governance
- Excellent record keeping
- Curiosity to ask questions, to manage risk, to challenge assumptions and to build connections across the Program
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work well with others, build relationships and to manage conflict or differences in viewpoints to solve problems
