Overview: Our client (a leading federal agency) is seeking a skilled ICT Procurement Officer to support Net Zero initiatives within the ICT Strategy and Investment Management Branch of the Information Management and Technology Division (IMD). This role requires expertise in sustainable ICT procurement, coordination, strategy development, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support ICT procurement processes with a focus on Net Zero goals and sustainability.
- Review and update ICT procurement documentation to ensure alignment with Net Zero objectives.
- Conduct research and provide advice on ICT-related emission reduction options.
- Participate in Net Zero workshops, communities, and networks both internally and externally.
- Develop and implement IMD’s Net Zero procurement strategy.
- Communicate and collaborate across IMD to draft Net Zero procurement reports for diverse audiences.
- Coordinate, research, and report on current and proposed new Net Zero procurement initiatives.
- Promote Net Zero targets, emission reduction strategies, actions, and progress within IMD.
- Educate business areas on sustainable ICT procurement processes.
- Assist in developing a sustainable ICT procurement framework within the Commercial Engagement Section (CEN).
- Support the CEN during peak procurement periods to ensure alignment with the Net Zero strategy.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder relationship management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules and sustainable procurement practices.
- Understanding of environmental management/sustainability in a government context.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of ICT procurements within large government organisations.
- Strong background in sustainable ICT procurement for hardware, software, and services.
- Experience in researching, consulting, and advising on ICT-related emission reduction options.
- Knowledge of relevant legislative, financial, and administrative frameworks.
- Flexibility, responsiveness, and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Initiative and ability to work under limited direction.
- Proven ability to build networks and communicate clearly to achieve outcomes.
- Experience with EDRMS, Visio, and the Microsoft 365 suite.
