The Opportunity
This role is initially offered as an hourly rate contract opportunity for approximately five (5) months, until September 2024. You'll join the Finance team with strong potential for extension or transition to a permanent position. It is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door to the federal government, as our client is willing to sponsor successful candidates to obtain a security clearance.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Assistant Director, the APS6 will operate within the Financial Reporting and Treasury sections. Key duties include:
- Conducting Financial and Asset Accounting processes, payment runs, and treasury functions
- Supporting the month-end process by preparing journals and reconciliations
- Assisting in ongoing improvement of business practices and financial policies
- Handling credit care administrative processes
- Providing advice to key stakeholders
Ideal candidates are likely to come from two backgrounds. You may have working experience in the Big 4 or other consulting firms at the Senior Associate level or above. Alternatively, you may have previously worked for or currently be working for the federal government at an APS6 level.
You need to demonstrate experience with accounting systems such as SAP, TM1, or the ability to quickly learn these skills. Additionally, you need to have experience in supervising or managing people in the past.

Salary / Rate
- $50/hr - $75/hr + 11% super
- Hourly rate contract until September 2024
