The Fraud Intelligence and Investigations Branch detects and responds to internal and external payment fraud against the Scheme. The branch focus is on protecting the Scheme’s financial sustainability, strengthening fraud control arrangements and supporting the Fraud Fusion Taskforce to strengthen the Commonwealth’s fraud detection and response capability.As an integral part of the team, you will be required to provide detailed technical and operational support and advice in relation to investigation activities.
Key Responsibilities include:- Conduct complex and sensitive criminal investigation activities in accordance with NDIA processes and the Australian Government Investigation Standards.
- Experience in conducting interviews, preparing statements and affidavits, collecting, securing and managing evidential material and confidential information.
- Preparing cases and briefs of evidence for referral to relevant parties and providing evidence in criminal and civil court as a representative of the Agency.
- Analysing and processing information to produce accurate and informative reports and conducting formal and informal discussions with partner agencies and stakeholders
- Assisting with the execution of search warrants (may require domestic travel, overnight stays and extended hours).
To be considered, you will possess:
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or similar qualification
- High level interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work both in a team environment and also autonomously
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”
