Your new company This well-known Federal Government Department is seeking an APS6 Program Support Officer to join one of their branches that delivers several large programs that support accessibility and equity of childcare due to an increase in the workload. You will join a team within the branch that supports one of the programs that supports vulnerable and disadvantaged communities in regional and remote locations in Australia. Your new role You will perform a range of program, policy and stakeholder engagement activities. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Support the delivery of programs by performing a range of program and policy implementation, data and reporting, grants and contract management, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Draft, prepare and disseminate a range of documents tailored to specific audiences.
Support policy work including understanding the broader operating context and an ability to draw links across issues.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Work with a high level of autonomy as part of a team as well as under limited guidance.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position, you will have previous experience in a similar position and the Federal Government. You will also have demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to interpret information to apply to the development of policy, work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, excellent program and/or project management skills, excellent organisational and planning skills, demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to use evidence and quantitative data to prepare high quality reports and advice. To be considered for this role, you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
