Our government client is seeking a talented and driven APS6/EL1Program Management Support Officer to join the team.

APS6/EL1 Program Management Support Officer

• Location Canberra
• 6 -month contract with the possibility of 2 x 12-month extensions
• Minimum NV1 (NV2 Preferred)

Our federal government client is actively seeking an APS6/EL1 Program Management Support Officer.
Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the design and procurement processes to advance the establishment of the Cable Centre and its operational activities.
• Facilitating effective relationship management with the Lead Contractor post-selection.
• Establishing and maintaining efficient contract management procedures, while monitoring and tracking contract milestones and budgetary constraints.
• Overseeing program risks and ensuring adherence to contractual requirements through diligent monitoring and evaluation.
• Coordinating internal and inter-agency advisory meetings and consultations.
• Providing input into reporting and briefing processes.
• Fostering a positive team culture characterized by collaborative work dynamics and a shared sense of purpose. This includes capacity-building within the team through coaching and constructive feedback.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Demonstrated expertise in a domain relevant to the department's objectives, coupled with an understanding of global affairs.
• Proven experience in Program Management, including proficiency in procurement, contract, and risk management processes.
• A confident decision-maker with a sound judgment and expertise in applying policies and best practices.
• Strong relationship-building skills, capable of managing complex stakeholder relationships to achieve organizational goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Effective task prioritization and autonomous work management skills, with the ability to escalate pertinent issues as needed.
• A commitment to fostering a workplace culture that values diversity and inclusivity.

While prior experience in infrastructure, telecommunications, or undersea cables is advantageous, it is not a mandatory requirement for this role.
