We are now seeking for APS6 Senior Finance officer for our large Federal Government client to commence initial 12 months contract with 6 months possible extension.
Please note, applicants are required to be an Australian Citizen and holds Baseline security clearance.
Job Specifics:
- Available to be based in any State Capital City CBD
- 37.5 Hour per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
- Hybrid working options available.
Key duties/tasks- Manage month end activities for various funding sources (staffing, property operating and capital projects) including:
- Preparing, reviewing, and posting monthly journals including accruals.
- Reconciliations of various complex natural accounts, cost centres and projects.
- Updating forecasting monthly in line with current activities and strategic priorities.
- Ensuring the general ledger is maintained in an accurate manner.
- Preparing monthly management reports and Dashboards for Senior Executives.
- Undertake in-depth financial trend and variance analysis where required.
- Assist with the bi-annual budget development and management for various funding sources related to Branch activities.
- The financial management of property assets, including capitalisation and disposals.
- The financial management of contracts relevant to Branch activities, including contract creations and variations.
- Provide periodic analysis and reporting to support Branch activities and ensure quality assurance.
- Provide strategic advice and assistance to the Senior Executives and stakeholders based on technical expertise.
Qualifications and/or registration with professional bodiesMandatory:- Completed or working towards a Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent.
Desirable:- Completed or working towards a CA or CPA qualification.
- Experience with TechnologyOne.
- Strong Excel capabilities.
