Job description
We are looking for high-performing individuals with the people and leadership skills, experience, and capabilities to lead a team to deliver outcomes in support of aged care reforms and regional stewardship measures, including across First Nations Health and Mental Health programs. Successful candidates will actively contribute to the shared purpose and direction of a team that has multiple functions across a range of aged care and health programs.Key responsibilities include:Effectively manage and develop team members, set priorities for the team, maintain team cohesion and ensure quality of outputs for the work area.Contribute to and support the local implementation of a range of Commonwealth funded health and aged care programs including change management.Develop and maintain relationships and liaise with key internal and external stakeholders (including older Australians, their families and carers).Represent the Department at various stakeholder and community engagement activities.Provide local intelligence to program and policy areas on emerging priorities and implementation of key programs, including via the use of relevant data.Identify, report on and respond to issues of concern or heightened risk. Engage relevant stakeholders to broker solutions to service problems.Research, interpret and apply relevant legislation, reform activities or key priorities as part of program management and assurance functions, as required.Undertake other administrative and program management processes as required.Assist in emergency management response when required, including environmental and COVID-19 response and preparedness activities.Actively contribute to a positive workplace culture that supports staff wellbeing and the achievement of outcomes, emphasising collaboration, connection and effective ways of working consistent with our cultural values.
