The role:
The Architectural Draftsperson is responsible for the preparation of architectural designs and drawings using computer aided drafting programs and ensuring that design drawings conform to specifications provided.
Responsibilities:
- Produce master drawings using AutoCAD program that comply with the customer contracts and quotations and design & construction requirements with the relevant building authority codes and standards
- Prepare and complete sales plans and working drawings including floor plans, external and internal elevations, electrical layouts, sections, and details from the design brief according to Company processes and accuracy standards
- Prepare master plans to ensure they are available when required product release for new display construction and production requirements – including all facades and sales plans
- Ensure that drawings are forwarded to and received from all stakeholders within the nominated time frames
- Liaise with the Sales and Operations teams to ensure production of plans meet requirements
- Ensure the effective use of standard operating procedures, processes, and documentation
- Ensure plans meet the National Construction codes and Australian Standard Codes, providing advice and solutions to ensure all codes and standards are met
To be successful you will bring:
- A qualification in Building Design / Architect
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Drafting role in the housing and construction industry
- Demonstrated experience in computer aided drafting programs, preferably AutoCAD
- Highly skilled in building design concepts, practices, procedures, final documents, specifications, materials, and construction practices.
- A positive, can-do approach to your role.
- Strong knowledge of the National Construction and Australian standard codes
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with high attention to detail
- Ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and build positive relationships
