The role
Treehouse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Area Manager in our Out of Home Care division to oversee the management and operation of multiple houses within our region. Reporting directly to the OOHC Operations Manager, the Area Manager will support and supervise up to seven House Supervisors, ensuring they deliver the highest quality care to the young people under our care. This role requires a compassionate and experienced leader committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the case management system is up-to-date and complies with Treehouse policy and procedures.
- Attend external stakeholder meetings, including regular case management meetings.
- Assist Human Resources and the General Manager in conducting employee-related child protection investigations, if required.
- Ensure reporting of notifiable events is consistent with Treehouse policies and procedures.
- Review all critical incident and fortnightly reports before external delivery.
- Oversee the onboarding process for House Supervisors in your region.
- Provide formal and informal supervision for House Supervisors.
- Conduct interim and annual reviews for supervised staff.
- Manage staff performance, ensuring regular feedback and development opportunities.
- Coordinate and document regular team meetings with House Supervisors and their program team.
- Assist with rostering and covering emergency shifts, including travel to the location or liaising with external staffing agencies.
- Prepare Area Manager monthly reports within the required timeframe.
- Monitor budgets and expenditure regularly, ensuring maintenance within budgetary constraints.
- Ensure documentation complies with Standards, including the NSW Child Safe Standards.
- Be available to take on responsibilities of being on call to support on a regular basis.
- Ensure all residential houses adhere to work health and safety standards.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of five years' experience in residential care.
- Minimum of three years' experience in a management role.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or an equivalent field (candidates working towards a degree may be considered with evidence of progress).
- Valid NSW Paid Working with Children Check and National Police Check or being willing and eligible to obtain one prior to commencement.
- Consent to be added to the Residential Care Workers Register
- Valid first aid certificate or willing to obtain within 1 month.
- Covid Vaccination Certificate
- Valid Australian Drivers Licence
