Job Title: Area Manager – Western Australia (North)

SALARY - $115K - $125K per annum + Super + bonus

This strategic leadership role involves overseeing multiple early years services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving business success.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as an Area Manager for Early Childhood Education. As the Area Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership to a portfolio of services in the Western Australia - Northern Region.

As Area Director you will lead a group of Services to deliver on the commercial, people and quality objectives of the organisation. Leading a team of Service Directors, you will build a performance culture through embedding effective leadership behaviours focussed on commercial outcomes, the development of our people and ensuring we deliver high quality care and educational programs that give every child the best start in life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Effectively lead and coach Service Directors to deliver commercial, people and quality objectives through ensuring appropriate structures, support, development, and monitoring is in place.

Lead and encourage creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team to ensure the ongoing enhancement and performance of our Services.

Create a culture of accountability through the effective performance management and development of commercial focus and capability across the services within your remit.

Promote a collaborative working relationship between the National Support Service (NSC) and the Services

Develop plans to meet or exceed performance targets across commercial, financial, quality, education, and people indicators.

Monitor performance and develop and implement mediation or improvement plans to ensure underperforming Services improve performance within appropriate timeframes to meet targets.

Review quality and compliance data to proactively identify trends for improvement or risk mitigation and assume accountability for Quality Improvement Plans (QIP) and Assessment and Rating outcomes for the Area.

Review financial information, identify trends, and analyse commercial data to support profit optimisation and growth of the portfolio.

Lead the ongoing focus on safety and compliance including ensuring that all Services within the area operate in accordance with all local, state, and federal legislative and regulatory requirements at all times.

Lead and role model a best practice approach regarding quality by embedding the National Quality Standards (NQS) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) in all aspects of care and educational programs and services.

Champion the ‘Busy Bees Way’ by ensuring programs and services are delivered in accordance with required policies, procedures, and standards.

Lead effective workforce planning and recruitment activity to ensure the continuity of high-quality support and services.

Mentor Directors on critical incidents, serious complaints, and people grievances, with a focus on developing capability and empowering leaders to manage these matters independently (where appropriate)

Ensure Service Directors have the resources and skills to be effective in their role and use structured team training to develop strong organisational capability, succession planning strategies and knowledge management.

Foster strong internal and external relationships with relevant stakeholders within the community that you are operating and delivering services within

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Or ACECQA equivalent).

Previous experience in a leadership role within the Early Childhood Education sector – preferred experience as an Area Manager or equivalent.

Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing childcare services.

Valid Working with Children’s Check.

First Aid Certification (optional)
