The Role

A fantastic opportunity currently exists for a dynamic and motivated Area Manager (2IC) to join our team in Queensland.

The Area Manager (2IC) will play a crucial role in supporting the Regional Sales Manager in developing and executing effective sales strategies while managing the Gold Coast region. This position involves planning and conducting store visits, engaging with clients, monitoring market trends, and driving business growth. The successful candidate will ensure the achievement of key performance indicators and contribute to the overall success of Airco Brands.

Responsibilities

Sales Support and Planning:

  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to develop and implement a geographic territory structure and call cycle for effective selling opportunities.
  • Help drive sales and mentor the QLD sales team.
  • Plan and execute regular store visits, engaging with existing and prospective clients to assess their needs, provide solutions, and negotiate pricing.
  • Complete orders, contracts, and daily call reports promptly, reporting sales, pricing, credit terms, and relevant call information to the Sales Management Team.
  • Carry out market research and continuously gather feedback on changing customer needs and competitor activity, reporting insights to the Sales Management Team.
  • Monitor competitor activity within the state, providing valuable feedback for strategic decision-making.

Business Growth and Development:

  • Adhere to and execute all national Head Office promotional activities in our market space.
  • Ensure minimum agreed core ranging in all group stores, adhere to company pricing policies, implement agreed in-store planograms, and monitor stock-on-hand and point-of-sale performance against national promotions.
  • Actively seek, identify, and capitalize on new business opportunities within the territory and help drive state direction with the sales team.
  • Help support the sales team in winning new business and market share.

Engagement and Participation:

  • Participate in team meetings, company conferences, industrial trade events, field days, and Airco Brands Trade Shows.

Skills and Experience 

To be successful in this role you must have the drive and determination to succeed, plus be able to demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in sales skills, including questioning, listening, presenting, closing sales, and negotiation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Professional and energetic presentation skills.
  • Team player and strong leader.
  • Effective planning and time management abilities.
  • Outstanding relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong team focus and ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Two years’ experience in people management is preferred but not essential
