Brunel has partnered with a key Australian organisation with a depth of experience in owning, developing, and operating Australian farmland, agriculture infrastructure and other assets. They are currently seeking an experienced Cropping Manager to support the Aggregation Manager on a broadacre cropping property in central Queensland. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic organisation that are in constant growth phase.
- Reporting to Aggregation Manager
- Supervising daily operations for efficient management of cropping business
- Developing and executing crop plans, monitoring crop health, and overseeing harvests
- Leading and managing farm hands to ensure a safe and productive environment
- Establishing crops, including bed preparation, fertilizing, sowing, and cultivation
- Managing crops with herbicide and pesticide applications
- Operating broadacre farming equipment like airseeders, precision planters, and self-propelled spray units
- Maintaining farm equipment and performing general farm duties such as fencing and repairs
- Ensuring compliance with work health and safety standards
- Experience in broadacre cropping sector
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
- Proficiency in operating John Deere Green tractors and Green Star automation
- Strong problem-solving ability, capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Experience in handling agricultural chemicals
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work precisely and safely as instructed
- Willingness to reside on a remote property with flexible work hours based on operational needs and weather conditions
- Positive and proactive attitude
