The Project
The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney's south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.
With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and diligent Area Manager to lead one of our Structures Buildings Teams!
The responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to;
- Planning, maintaining, coordinating and monitoring construction programs and completion of activities involved in Project/s, and communicating on same with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitoring the achievement of objectives and targets.
- Managing and coordinating staging programs for M&E trades to ensure seamless integration and structure fit-out.
- Technical input and oversight into temporary works and staging
- Leading a team of engineers/supervisors and managing communication between this team and subcontractors.
- Coordinating all construction activities on the site in consultation with the Superintendent.
- Establising the effective management and handover of all site works, in accordance with documented procedures, programs, project plans, drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrate a personal visible commitment to Our SHE Policies, Our SHE Cultural Framework, the Safety Essentials and the SHE Management System requirements and expectations.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Group policies and processes.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Either a recognised degree in relevant Engineering discipline OR other relevant tertiary qualification.
- Scheduling/programming experience
- Problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Experience in bridge construction (steel girder - off site pre-fabrication) abutments, hard and soft landscaping, concrete works, retaining walls, earthworks, shared footpaths, drainage, Piling (bored piles and small driven piles), conduit instillation.
- Excellent communication skills
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
