Area Manager - BIG W (Sydney & Regional NSW)
- Partner across the BIGW ecosystem to drive our strategy and deliver transformational experiences.
- Coach and lead 15 stores across Sydney and regional NSW to ensure strong foundational retail experiences are being delivered.
- A multi-site role that requires travel but also supports hybrid working arrangements.

What you'll do
As we continue to invest in our team, customers and store network we are recruiting for an Area Manager in NSW. Our Area Managers make a real difference for families, by driving our transformation, and activating our purpose, by coaching and empowering Store Leadership Teams and collaborating end to end across the BIGW ecosystem.
- Delivering foundational & transformational retail experiences by bringing strategic initiatives to life through strong and consistent quarterly end to end planning.
- Coaching & empowering Store Leadership Teams, centered around planning and improving the capability of team (commercial acumen, strategic thinking & analytical insight, team leadership & change management).
- Operating horizontally at a national level by contributing across the ecosystem on the design of core programs of work and embedding them in to the stores the operating rhythm.
- Creating a purpose led and engaging team environment where everyone feels safe and that they belong.
- Building a pipeline of future leaders, identifying and coaching talent and supporting a strong succession pipeline for the state / nation.
- Making a real difference to communities that we serve by actively contributing to national and local partnerships.
- Trusting and verifying foundational retail fundamentals (process, routines, compliance & safety) are being delivered across stores, deep diving on focus stores only.
Our Area Managers are multi-site roles and require travel across the state.
What you'll bring
- Strong team leadership; building and developing diverse, highly engaged teams who perform at their best through coaching, development and feedback.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking; actively seeking to discover, adapt and innovate.
- Analytical insight; understands the unlock of data and seeks to continually improve own and other's understanding.
- Influencing skills: able to build strong relationships to exchange ideas, resources and end to end working to ensure purposeful and store led decision making
- Experience in a retail leadership role is essential, big box preferred but not essential.
