Duties Include:
- Isolation of work project area by erecting signage, clearing of objects, removing hazards, covering vents etc.
- Applying protective coverings to areas such as polythene plastic sheeting and wearing the necessary personal protective equipment – coveralls, footwear, gloves and respiratory protection.
- Build containment enclosures.
- Safe removal of bonded and friable asbestos from walls, ceilings, beams, fencing etc. All in accordance with your training as well as occupational health and safety regulations.
- Ensuring all waste storage containers and bags are clearly labelled and sealed.
- Safe operation of a variety of specialist tools and equipment.
- Decontamination of all equipment and tools at the end of daily use.
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain a safe workplace by participating in safety, toolbox and other meetings as required.
- Your safety and environmental protection must be your top priority by following strict work methods and procedures to ensure the safety of all personnel and the environment.
- Be willing to undertake any other duties within your competence, skill, qualifications, and experience, as directed, to support the successful operation of the workshop.
