At Ashford Hospital we realise how hard you've studied to get to this point. Taking the next step in your career is an important milestone. With us you can kick start your employment as an early career nurse or midwife through our comprehensive and individually tailored program. With full time or part time options available (minimum 0.8 FTE), our 12-month program is coupled with an additional Consolidation Year, to further support your transition to practice and develop your clinical skills and knowledge.

Ashford Hospital was opened in 1950, it was originally a joint collaboration between Unley, Mitcham, West Torrens and Marion Councils and a group of Western District doctors. For over 70 years, Ashford Hospital has been dedicated to caring for people and families living in South Australia. Our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses, obstetricians, midwives and other professionals strive to ensure that patient experiences are the best that they can be.
In 1995, Ashford Hospital was the first private hospital in the State to open an emergency department which now attends to over 10,000 patients each year. Ashford Hospital was also the first private hospital in South Australia to perform Cardiac Surgery.
Supported by the latest technology and robotics, we provide a wide range of clinical services including cardiology, orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, vascular surgery, general medicine, oncology and haematology. We're also renowned for our maternity and gynaecology service caring for thousands of expectant mums and families each year.
Our comprehensive range of services enables us to perform a broad range of surgical, medical, diagnostic and interventional procedures. We are fully equipped with the highest level of private critical care, neonatal and maternal care available in South Australia and our services are supported by on-site medical imaging, radiology, pathology and pharmacy.

Registered Nurse
Registered Nurses at ACHA perform a wide range of activities in pursuit of delivering a high-quality patient experience. Every day is different and may include assessing patients, administering medications, providing wound care and educating patients and their families about health conditions. You will need to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, advocate for your patients and provide support to patients and their families. You will have the opportunity to continually develop, improve and promote best evidence-based practice.
