Job description
An Asparagus Farm in the Kooweerup region of Victoria requires three full time workers for a four year contract. This four year contract will begin Mid June 2024 until Mid June 2028. You may be required to work at either of our two farm sites at Kooweerup, Victoria or Gabbadah, Western Australia at any time during this contract period.
You MUST be able to commit to the whole four year contract to be successful in your application. Asparagus is a vegetable that grows quickly depending on weather, so the ability to be flexible and work a variety of shifts including early morning and night shifts is ESSENTIAL. Working hours will vary daily and applicants must be available to work 7 days a week. Starting hours could be as early as 3am.
Work to be undertaken includes cutting Asparagus in the field using a long-blade knife taking great care to cut at the right length. This action is extremely repetitive, and requires constant bending and lifting, therefore good overall mobility is desirable. Other farm related activities will include but is not limited to spraying, weeding and tractor work.
Workers will be paid as per the Horticulture Award 2020. No experience is necessary.
You must have a legal right to work in Australia and be an Australian Resident for work purposes.
It would be advantageous to have a drivers licence and your own vehicle to commute to and from work.
