About the Role:
As an Asphalt Leading Hand, you will play a pivotal role in leading the third crew in asphalt works, ensuring the successful completion of projects to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supervising asphalt paving crews to ensure work is completed according to project specifications and timelines.
- Coordinating with project managers and other stakeholders to plan and execute asphalt paving projects.
- Providing hands-on guidance and training to team members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Operating and maintaining paving equipment, troubleshooting any issues that may arise during project execution.
- Conducting regular quality inspections to ensure finished surfaces meet project requirements and customer expectations.
- Maintaining accurate records of project progress and materials inventory.
- Fostering a positive work environment based on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- HR/HC Truck license essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in road construction and maintenance is essential.
- Previous experience in Asphalt or Spray Seal
- Proven leadership ability and experience in leading teams.
- A current driver's license.
- Operating tickets and relevant certifications are highly desirable.
- White card certification.
- A strong ‘team player’ with the proven ability to work efficiently with other.
- Willing to undergo Medical and Drug and Alcohol screen test.
- Full working rights in Australia.
