The Role

Join the Connect and Respect team - the dedicated program striving to foster safer environments for women, children, and men across Western Australia. Become part of something truly impactful.

As the Assessment and Reporting Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in our Rockingham site, providing specialised assessment services and ensuring thorough reporting within the Connect and Respect program. 

Collaborating closely with the coordinator, you'll oversee the assessment process, ensuring the creation of high-quality documents. Working as part of a team, you'll prioritise the safety of women and children affected by family and domestic violence, offering support in delivering essential programs.

This position will be offered on a fixed term full time basis working 76 hours per fortnight.

Selection Criteria

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to develop rapport, be non-judgemental and provide a high level of risk assessment, safety planning, individual and group work, case management to clients across the lifespan.
  • Stakeholder engagement and networking across all organisational levels.
  • Crisis management.
  • De-escalation and conflict resolution.
  • Effectively engage with participants and demonstrate a clear ability to attend to crisis and emotional distress. 
  • Advocacy, negotiation, and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to engage in reflective practice that takes into account a gendered and feminist analysis of behaviours, thoughts and feelings. 
  • Demonstrated high level time management and task management skills, and ability to work under limited direction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to participate effectively in line management and supervision.
  • Experience in the delivery of Family and Domestic Violence Men’s Behaviour change
  • Experience in writing high level reports and preparing supporting documentation 
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Office suite of applications or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
  • Unrestricted drivers’ licence 
  • Working With Children Check
