About the role
In this role you will lead, plan and coordinate transport (storage and transport moves), container park operations whilst maintaining a high level of discipline around cost efficiency and business productivity. You will work in collaboration with the operations team to ensure efficient freight movement between the wharf, customers, container park, and the warehouse to meet customer (internal & external) service key performance indicators.
What you'll do
- Manage all transport allocation and costs in line with operational requirements, maintaining a high level of productivity in all three main operations areas:
- Wharf - Import/Export
- Container Parks - Empty De-hire and Empty Pick Ups
- Customer - DIFOT/PIFOT
- Plan and monitor daily operations of the PUD Fleet ensuring freight and container movements in accordance with business requirements, showing great leadership and direction to PUD staff and all stakeholders to ensure high level of on time outcomes.
- Plan and implement container movements based on operational requirements.
- Participate in planning sessions with the Scheduler and Warehouse team to meet customer service requirements.
- Provide guidance and direction to PUD staff and Reach Stacker Operators.
- Maintain up to date information within the WAVE, 1-Stop and Container Chain systems.
- Consider and assist with allocation of equipment to whole of network users.
- Ensure dangerous goods are handled correctly through the container park and regulations are adhered to.
What you'll bring
- Previous experience in fleet operations in Transport ideally in the intermodal/wharf industry
- Sound knowledge and understanding of OH&S Legislative and Regulatory requirements including but not limited to Safety at Work, Fatigue Management, Mass Management Load Restraint and Chain of Responsibility legislative requirements.
- Understanding of the ADG 07 Code.
- Sound knowledge of Wharf Cartage, national rail line haul system, WA Road Transport legislation, regulations and permit network.
- Experience in Materials Handling process and procedures.
