About the role

We have an opportunity for anAssessment Officer - Child Wellbeing Unit to be part of our PoliceLink, Communication Services Command team. The Assessment Officer reviews NSWPF COPS child at risk reports that are disseminated to the Unit for action. The role conducts analysis of such reports and where applicable, disseminates information to the appropriate authorities and makes referrals where required.

This role is part-time, working 35 hours per fortnight. Salary will be paid at the pro-rata rate.

Target Question 1:

Unlike many other positions in child protection, the Police Child Wellbeing Unit (CWU) does not undertake case management functions. Child Wellbeing UnitAssessment Officers are required to collate information from various sources, make accurate assessments of risk and then action the outcome in a timely and efficient manner. Using your relevant experience, outline how you meet the requirements in the role.

Target Question 2:

The role of a Police Child Wellbeing UnitAssessment Officer is to assess risk to children based on information obtained from various sources and systems, including external organisations to improve outcomes for child and young persons at risk of harm. Provide an example of when you have co-operated with an external (not your own) agency/organisation to improve an outcome for child/young person at risk of harm.
