The Division
The Greater Sydney Division integrates transport modes including trains, metro and buses; critical infrastructure and services to support Sydney's growing metropolitan population and is projected to swell to over 12 million people within the next 40 years.
The Role
Right now, we have a great opportunity for a motivated and experienced Asset Inspector to join the team at the Sydney Harbour Bridge Precinct (SHBP) to assist in leading critical surveillance and inspections of our iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. On occasions inspection responsibilities may extend to the other infrastructure within the Transport Road Network.
Other key accountabilities include:
- Identify and prioritise defects and determine appropriate repair and preventative treatments including preparing specifications to assist the SHBP Maintenance Scheduler in maintaining the SHBP assets in a safe and functional condition to specified outcomes and requirements.
- Inspect, conduct surveillance and survey works within the SHBP to verify conformance to bridge, road and infrastructure specifications, policies and handover requirements.
- Liaise with stakeholders in Asset Management and Bridge Engineering in Technical Services to maintain an awareness of current and emerging trends in bridge surveillance practices, technologies and materials.
- Inspect the progress of maintenance and project works, assist Project Managers and Engineers with quality documentation and accurate quantities of the work carried out, participate on project teams.
About You
You are an experienced and motivated Asset Inspector with good, demonstrated experience with asset, preferably steel and/or concrete bridges inspection experience and/or other infrastructure, including maintenance works. You enjoy working autonomously while being part of an efficient and hardworking team, coupled with excellent communication skills and proficient Microsoft application skills.
This role will require working from heights and confined spaces. You must also hold a valid and current NSW Driver's Licence and be willing to work outside regular working hours and travel on occasion.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Transport USS7 ($97,223 - $102,607) per annum plus superannuation.
