We are looking for an experienced Asset Manager to lead long-term and day-to-day Asset Management within the Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM) organisation supporting Hydrographic and Offshore Patrol Vessel fleets.
We look for specialists with a talent for big picture thinking and attention to detail, alongside strong management capabilities to develop and deliver strong outcomes for our nation and defence.
The Role
Reporting to the Deputy Project Director, the Asset Management Lead will maximise the value to be realised from assets by optimising cost, performance, and risk parameters against defined Asset Management objectives and developing options to address required changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Asset Management plans and align subordinate documents to manage assets over their lifecycle for the CLCM Program, whilst developing and maintaining a budget through annual and longer-term work plans to enable the achievement of objectives.
- Develop and maintain asset development and obsolescence management roadmaps in consultation with stakeholders.
- Develop Asset Management requirements for new assets and asset upgrades.
- Develop performance measurement frameworks to assess the efficacy of support services and enable continuous improvement.
- Adjust support services based on changes to variable parameters such as allocated budget, system performance, and supportability.
- Collaborate and communicate with relevant stakeholders to identify and prioritise activities in order to best achieve Asset Management objectives.
- Act as a thought leader, remaining abreast of current and emerging planning issues and trends, including best practice, innovative approaches, and opportunities to improve Asset Management objectives and support their achievement.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- A University Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is required.
- Minimum 8 years prior relevant experience (when a University Degree is held).
- Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics within the Asset Management work area.
- Experience working in a Maritime support organisation.
- Significant expertise in relevant domain concepts and technology.
- Proven experience in strategy development in an Industry environment.
