The Langham Hotel Melbourne is currently looking for a full-time Assistant Accountant to join our team.
Reporting to the Hotel Accountant, your role will be responsible for:
- Income Audit Functions
- General Cashier Functions
- Administering the Capital Expenditure,
- Maintaining the Contract Register,
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register,
- Ensuring timely and accurate input for all of our reporting,
- Maintaining and reconciling the bank accounts and monitoring cash flow,
- Assist in monitoring the Hotel's compliance with Corporate and internal Policies & Procedures,
- Assisting Accountant and Assistant Financial Controller as required.
- Adhoc projects as required

This position is an integral part of a high performing hotel team, and a key contributor to the hotel's ongoing success.
To be successful in this role you'll be advanced in using excel, possess a high attention to detail, and a proven aptitude for working with figures.
For this role, your attributes will be inclusive of the following:
- Bachelor of Accounting or similar
- CA/CPA Qualified or currently pursuing
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a Finance / Accounting capacity
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a luxury hotel or similar environment
- Detailed knowledge of our Accounting systems: Sun System, Materials Control and previous use of Opera would be an advantage
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Works well under pressure in order to meet targets and deadlines
