The role
The position is a full time position in our finance team. The position reports to the Financial Manager with dotted reporting lines to the Group Finance. Supporting both the Victorian & Tasmanian business units, your role will include:
- Bank Reconciliations – You will be expected to:
1. Operate the Bank Reconciliation module of the ERP systems.
2. Understand the bank accounts and be able to familiarise yourself with the different types of transactions that impact the banking function
3. Work with the Accounts Receivable team to identify & resolve any receipting issues that have impact on the bank reconciliation.
4. Work with the Accounts Payable team to identify & resolve any payment receipting issues that have impact on the bank reconciliation.
- Preparing and processing adhoc journals entries.
- Maintaining the monthly journal register.
- Assist in maintaining the electronic banking service as required
- Assist in the Half Year and Full Year Financial Audits
- Assist in the Budgeting and Forecasting processes as required
- Process GST and BAS claims in an accurate and timely manner
- Assist with the Accounts Receivable team as required
- Liaise with Finance teams in other states
- Assist in Adhoc tasks as required
- Communicate with all stakeholders in a professional, cordial and friendly manner and follow the values of our organisation while doing so
The Successful Candidate will:
- Be self-motivated and believe in a personal commitment to the delivery of high quality work.
- Have at least 2-3 years demonstrated experience in an accounting/finance role or working towards completing your professional accreditation.
- Possess strong numerical, organisational and administration skills and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be comfortable in communicating with all stakeholders and do so in a professional manner - You respect the need to work in a sensitive manner.
- Prior experience in the health care sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and have an aptitude and willingness to learn new technology, systems and practices.
