Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, this Assistant Accountant will be instrumental in assisting with the preparation of Month end including Balance Sheet reconciliation, prepayments and fixed asset management. You will be involved in all general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations and monthly accruals. This Assistant Accountant will also be responsible for assisting with intercompany reconciliations and journal entries.
In addition, you will be involved in assisting in FBT and GST returns as well as compiling reports for senior management and internal and external auditors. You will be using your expertise in programs such as MS Excel to present the data to the different divisions within the company.
Responsibilities
- Banking reconciliations
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Ownership of Fixed Assets Management
- Assisting with month-end close
- Intercompany recharges and reconciliations
- Preparation and lodgement of business activity statements (BAS/GST)
- Accruals, prepayments, and general journal postings.
- Assisting with audit and taxation.
- Contribute to process improvements.
- Completing ad-hoc tasks
- Contributing to projects
Candidate Profile
This Assistant Accountant will possess an Accounting or Commerce degree and you may be CA or CPA part qualified or may have plans to start soon. You will have experience in a similar role and have knowledge in corporate P&L reporting as well as month-end reporting accounting process. You will have strong accounting skills in MS Excel and ERP systems knowledge. Excellent written and communication skills are a must.
