Role Overview
As the Assistant Accountant, you will be reporting into the Finance Director. You will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial statements, completion of month-end reporting and processors and the reconciliation of accounts. Thsi role will also see you ensuring the accurate and timely processing and management of the accounts payable & receivable function.
A typical day for this Accounts Officer will see you assisting with month end, reconciliations, journal entries, prepayments, and other duties. Your motivation, drive, and eagerness to learn will see you make this role your own.
Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable functions in difference currencies, including purchase order tracking, invoice management, and supplier information maintenance.
- Responsible accounts receivable functions, handling financial transactions, invoice issuance, payment allocation, record maintenance, and customer inquiry resolution.
- Assist with monthly accounting tasks (Journal preparation expense review, month-end closing, provision, and etc.)
- Maintain the fixed asset register and management.
- Coordinating and maintaining the financial/management accounts and general ledger systems to ensure the maintenance of a consistent information base.
- Support internal audit related tasks, both financial and operational.
- Assist with preparation of tax returns and BAS, P&L, B&L and EOFY reconciliations.
- Assisting in pricing, costing and profit margin analysis.
- Maintain accuracy of financial /management accounting controls and systems.
- Reviewing and analysing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas where improvements could be made.
