The successful candidate will be responsible for office administration and supporting office operations at the Consulate, including ad hoc purchasing and payments, event assistance, security, and building management liaison. This role will lead on transport for the Consulate General. This will include driving and maintaining the vehicles at the Consulate - ensuring that senior staff, especially the Consul-General, are safely driven to work functions as necessary.This is an interesting and varied role that will involve Ministerial and senior officials' visits to Sydney. As the Consul-General represents His Majesty's Government at commemorative events in New South Wales, there may be a further need to work on certain weekends, early starts, or late-night finishes.The successful candidate will need to be flexible and resilient. Overtime will be available for hours worked beyond the contracted weekly hours (by prior approval).Due to the nature of this role the opportunity to work from home will be limited and ad-hoc. This role is an initial one year contract.Responsibilities:Administration (70%):
- Procurement and contractor management
- Health and safety checks and inventories.
- Support the work of the Information Technology Support Officer on a range of IT related troubleshooting
- General office support for staff, visitors and events
- Security relief cover
- Provide safe, clean and punctual driving services to the Consul General, Deputy Consul General, staff, and official visitors to appointments, functions, and airports during office hours and after hours as necessary.
- Ensuring regular maintenance and permits are in order for Consulate vehicles.
- Holds a current full clean driving licence.
- Ability to work flexible hours (including some evenings/weekends).
