Job Description
We are looking for an Assistant Accountant rockstar to come on board and join our Australia team. This is a great opportunity to work directly with our APAC Financial Controller on foundational work for the Finance team that sets us up for success. We are looking for someone who manages tasks independently and efficiently, with the experience to be able to see opportunities for improvements along the way. If you are someone who likes to multi-task, run day to day finance responsibilities, as well as work on larger foundational projects - this is the position for you! This is a 6 month contract role, working full time in the office at the start with our team, with the possibility of working hybrid or remote after an initial period.
Main Job Duties
Reporting into the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Full ownership of Accounts receivable and payable function
- Monthly intercompany invoicing and reconciliation
- Responsible for the completing of monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations for key GL accounts.
- Assist with internal stakeholder queries in a timely manner.
- Assist with improving the month end process.
- Support the finance project initiatives.
- Ad hoc tasks as required.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar position
- A Bachelor/Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Studying towards CPA/CA
- Experience with ERP, MYOB, Xero or Quickbook would be a plus!
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote, high growth environment where priorities can change
- Proactive, go-getter attitude
- Attention to detail - No task is too small for you to roll your sleeves up. You love to balance debits and credits, find joy in reconciling, and seek to understand all balances and transactions.
