What are we looking for?
We’re on the hunt for an enthusiastic, committed and trustworthy individual who is keen to learn and get exposure to every aspect of a dynamic and unique business. Working within the finance team, we are looking for vibrant applicants with a calm, friendly disposition, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ideally, you’d also possess proficient task management skills, the ability to work independently and treat sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
What will you do?
The Finance team is an essential part of Home Base, and we interact across each part of the business, both internally and externally. We pride ourselves on offering exceptional assistance to our customers, exhibitors, and suppliers, as well as supporting our internal business areas such as sales and marketing.
As part of the Finance team, you will report directly to the Financial Controller, and will be encouraged to work independently. Once established in the role, your input and feedback within the team will be sought as we always seek to improve how we perform. You will be provided with ample time to learn so you can get an understanding of the business and the reporting requirements.
Overall, this is a unique and fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience across the full spectrum of critical finance functions, interact with customers, exhibitors, and suppliers, along with supporting all major areas of the business.
Highlights of the key responsibilities
- End-to-end payroll function
- End-to-end accounts payable duties
- Accounts receivable tasks focussing on invoicing, contracts, recharges, etc.
- Month end closing tasks (journals, adjustments, accruals, provisions)
- Statutory reporting preparation including payroll tax, Click Super, BAS.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting
- Assist with annual budgeting, financial statement preparation and accounting system rollover.
