The Arcadia Group are owner operators of premier retirement village communities within Western Australia and Victoria.
We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Finance Manager and located in our Subiaco head office, the main responsibilities of this role include:
- General Accounting: Support the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to prepare and monitor budgets and forecasts, and provide regular updates on financial projections.
- Month-end Process: Assist with month-end processes, such as bank and general ledger reconciliation, to ensure accurate financial records.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Financial Analysis: Assist in financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and trend analysis, to support management decision-making processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams to gather relevant financial information and support decision-making processes.
- Ad hoc Tasks: Undertake ad hoc tasks and special projects as assigned by the finance manager or senior executive within the Company.
To be successful in this role you will hold the following qualification;
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Professional certifications eg. CPA, CA will be highly regarded.
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant working experience in accounting and finance, with exposure to general accounting tasks.
- Experience working with accounting software and ERP systems is preferred, together with a high proficiency in MS Excel.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and financial reporting. Familiarity with relevant accounting regulations and standards is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders across the organisation
- Ability to prioritise all tasks, meet deadlines and work efficiently in a faced paced environment.
