About the Role
We are looking for anAssistant Accountant to work as part of a startup who loves to be part of small tight knit team within our Commercial Team to ensure that accounts, payments and bank reconciliations are accurately and efficiently processed. The role will cover basic finance functions and will expand with responsibility and duties over time as experience is gained. This role is a part-time position working two to three days per week.
What you will do:
- Preparing and processing payments and invoices, reconciling accounts and expenditures through Xero.
- Preparing financial statements and budgets, including profit and loss statements.
- Supporting financial and senior managers as required, which may include processing documentation related to taxation, financial reporting, operating budgets, quotations and inventory adjustments.
- Work with the People team on onboarding, changes, offboarding of employees to ensure accurate payroll requirements are met.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Working towards or recently completed an undergraduate degree in Accounting (Preferable)
- Minimum 2 years experience as an Assistant Accountant.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office.
- Experience using Xero or similar financial software.
- Fathom experience is a bonus, but not essential.
- Understanding of finance regulations and legislations.
- Good with numbers and figures with analytical acumen.
