About the role
Working within the Mushroom Group Financial Accounting team, the role will provide financial and accounting assistance to various areas of finance. A key focus of the role will be supporting general compliance and taxation functions within the Shared Services Team, in addition to providing general finance administrative support to the Mushroom Group service entity. In its capacity within the Mushroom Finance team, the role will at times also provide cross-divisional support as required to build experience across other business units.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking finance administration tasks for the Mushroom Group service entity
- Reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards and invoice coding
- General oversight of ledger
- Assisting the Finance Manager with month end processes (balance sheet reconciliations) and year end work papers for the group
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly tax activity statements for the group
- Monthly depreciation entries and assist with fixed asset reporting
- Assisting the Finance Manager with the preparation of annual FBT returns
- Providing support to the wider Mushroom Group Finance team by assisting with additional finance and administrative activities when required
Sounds like you? If so, you will have the following –
- Tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Accounting/Business/Commerce
- Minimum of 1 years experience in a similar role
- Experience working in a commercial or public practice environment is highly desirable
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly excel
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to constantly multi-task and prioritise tasks/timelines
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups
- Advantageous if you are currently working towards becoming a CPA or Chartered Accountant
